Screening Sessions: A Journey Through Chinese Heritage

7pm-11pm 25 January 2025

£13.70

We are thrilled to be welcoming Artisan Tribes into the art’otel Auditorium for a very special screening exploring Chinese ethnic cultures.
China is a land of diverse ethnic cultures, where every language and tradition tells a unique story. This evening of film screenings offers a journey into the beauty and resilience of ethnic cultures within China through four captivating films, each revealing life’s light in forests, grasslands, and snow-capped mountains.

In Adaupa, a Yi girl documents her people’s faces and attire, searching for identity amidst tradition and modernity. Fly Further Away follows a Tibetan girl and a photographer on a quest for a lost sheep, delving into cultural connections and self-discovery. Black Sheep portrays a herdsman’s son and his black lamb, caught between tradition and modernization on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Wandering Through Everything traces a Kazakh boy’s dream of playing rock music, blending cultural heritage with youthful rebellion.

These stories reflect the preservation and transformation of ethnic cultures while exploring personal struggles in a changing world. Join us to experience the emotional resonance of these narratives and reflect on the importance of safeguarding cultural heritage in a globalized era.
